When we built a brand for Hygge Rum, we had to capture the cosy feeling evoked by the Danish concept of ‘hygge’. Formed during the 2020 lockdown, Hygge Rum is focused on breaking the nautical marketing stereotypes of rum, instead, focusing on hygge. Pronounced ‘hue-gah’, hygge is tough to translate into English, but it means a comfy, cosy, content feeling.
Emotions and feelings are a driving force of why people buy from brands. And when your brand story is based on a feeling, getting the messaging right involves really getting under the skin of a brand and finding out what it’s made from.
Luckily for us, Hygge Rum were more than happy to tell us their deepest feelings – in return for a quietly stylish yet rugged brand design that goes beyond a logo and truly captures hygge.
